These services may involve a transfer of data to Google servers outside the European Union; Google relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses for such transfers. More information in Google's privacy policy.
We also keep aggregated, cookie-free server-side statistics of page visits (page visited, referrer, browser language and, where available, country) on a legitimate-interest basis, to understand how the site performs over time. These logs contain no cookies and no raw IP address — visitors are counted through a daily, non-reversible hash — and are never used to identify you.
The Codingrow modules installed on a store periodically verify their license or automatic activation with codingrow.com, sending the store domain, the product and the installed version (and a hash of the license key, when present). The same daily check may also carry a few aggregate usage counters — for example how many chats were handled, how many product cards were shown, how many items were added to the cart — which we use to understand how our products are used, to improve them and to publish aggregate figures. These are whole numbers only: never text, never catalogue or order contents, and never any data about the store’s customers. Sending these counters can be switched off at any time in the module configuration. For security and abuse prevention we also record the IP address the check comes from, together with the domain.
When you request a free module or use the customer area we process: your email address, the language you chose, the requested product and the date of the request, the IP address the request came from (for security and abuse-prevention purposes only), your personal Composer repository credentials (the password is stored encrypted) and, if you set one, your customer-area password (stored only as a non-reversible hash). We use this data to send you the credentials and installation instructions, to create and manage your account and customer area (including sending the links to create your password or to sign in) and to protect the service from abuse. The legal basis is the performance of steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); security and anti-abuse checks rely on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep the data for as long as the account exists: you can ask us to delete it at any time through the contact page, and on deletion the repository credentials are deactivated; we keep only the data the law requires us to retain, for example purchase records for tax purposes. We do not use this data for marketing without your explicit consent, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
If you subscribe to the blog newsletter we store your email address, the language of the page you subscribed from, the date, and a technical hash of the visit — never your raw IP address. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by clicking the link in the confirmation email: without that click we store the address as unconfirmed and never write to you. We use it for one purpose only, to tell you when a new article is published, and we never share the list with anyone. You can withdraw your consent at any time from the link in every email or at codingrow.com/newsletter/unsubscribe; we keep a record of the withdrawal so that we can honour it, and nothing else about your licences or support changes.
Under GDPR Articles 15-22 you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, or portability of your data, and you can lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
